Summer 2020 Policies and Procedures at Burns Photography

For your protection and ours, we will be following the required Restore Illinois Phase 3 plan for the summer.  What this means for staff and customers:


All employees addressing customers will wear masks
Employee temperatures are taken daily and logged
Dressing rooms, bathrooms and common areas will be cleaned and sanitized between customers


    • Sessions: Customers are asked to pre-pay for photo sessions to prevent handling of payments. This will be done when the session is scheduled preferably, if not then it will be taken over the phone when the customer is waiting in their vehicle waiting for a dressing room to become available.
    • Order Appointments: We strongly encourage pre-payment of a Portrait Advance deposit of $100.00. The Portrait Advance allows our studio to allocate web space to post images online for your viewing convenience. Your Portrait Advance will be applied as a credit to your print order. Your Portrait Advance is refundable within the first 30 days following your session.  After 30 days you may only apply your Portrait Advance to orders placed from this session.
    • The pre-paid portrait advance together with the completed image worksheet will allow phone orders in lieu of in-person sales or will greatly expediate the length of in-person appointments.

Photo sessions and order appointments will be scheduled with time gaps to eliminate or minimize wait times.

Upon Arrival at Burns Photography:

  • Customers are to wear masks until being photographed
  • Customers are to reschedule their appointment if they are not feeling well, or if any one in their residence has Coronavirus.
  • Customers are asked to adhere to gathering limits: only one person may accompany the senior for their photo session and only two people may attend an in-person order appointment.
  • Customers are to be on time for your appointment. Photo sessions and order appointments will be spread out to eliminate or minimize wait times.
  • Customers present for photo session are asked to call upon arrival. Once a dressing room is cleaned and available, you will be able to enter.
  • Customers present for order appointment are asked to call upon arrival. Once a sales room is cleaned and available you will be able to enter.
  • Customers present for order pickups do not need an appointment (unless selecting a frame) but will be asked to call upon arrival. We will bring your order out to your vehicle.
